Peterborough & Wisbech Quakers
Peterborough & Wisbech Quakers

In a Dedicated Peace Area with its PEACE POLE...

... we welcome everyone of all faiths or none, cultures and countries to sit alone or with others known and unknown to pray for peace in this troubled world that is our home.

The Peace Area was created by planting seven White Birch trees, one for each continent in an area of the garden

particularly designed to encourage wildlife.

There is Peace Pole on which is written in eight languages

May peace prevail on Earth”.

It also includes an English Braille plaque.

White Birch trees symbolise renewal, new beginnings,

purification, and fertility.

They represent new life and a fresh start, and are often associated with feminine energy, wisdom, and protection.

The birch's resilience and ability to thrive in harsh conditions

also conveys strength and adaptability.
